The Story Behind
The Fig and Bee

Thoughtful printables for Muslim family milestones, made by a parent who gets it.

The Fig and Bee started with a simple question: why is it so hard to find planning tools that actually fit our lives?

When my son was born, I wanted to give him an Aqiqah that felt meaningful. But between the sleepless nights and the logistics of coordinating a butcher, distributing meat, and hosting family, I found myself overwhelmed. I searched for resources and found either dense religious texts or generic party planners that didn't quite fit.

I wanted something in the middle. A tool that respected the tradition without being preachy. Something beautiful enough to keep, practical enough to actually use, and designed for the reality of new parenthood.

So I made it. Because we deserve planning tools that understand our lives.

Why "The Fig and Bee"?

Both the fig and the bee are mentioned in the Quran—the fig in Surah At-Tin, the bee in Surah An-Nahl. In nature, they share a beautiful, quiet partnership. The fig tree and its bee have evolved together for millions of years—each dependent on the other, each playing a role in something larger.

That felt like the right spirit for this work. Small, intentional contributions to the moments that shape family life. Nothing flashy. Just thoughtful tools that do their job and help something meaningful grow.

Thanks for being here.
